FUN & FITNESS FOR ALL!

About

WHEN THE STARS ALIGN...

Coastal Stars Gymnastics Inc. was created due to the need for gymnastics programming on the coast. It started out as an after school program in Pender Harbour and quickly blossomed from there! We now offer mobile, recreational gymnastics programming from Langdale to Egmont.

Our programs are versatile and inclusive and we have lots of options! From tots to pre-teen weekly classes, private events to school PE classes, day camps, and specialty programming for those that need a bit more support, our goal is to give Sunshine Coast kids the opportunity to participate in this fun and rewarding sport!

FAQ

Do you carry insurance?

We carry liability insurance specifically for gymnastics. The sport of gymnastics is considered high risk and requires additional coverage. All participants will be required to sign a waiver before participating. We make every effort to mitigate risks and provide a safe learning environment. We also carry WCB insurance for all contractors and employees.

What equipment do you have?

We have a completely mobile set-up that can be assembled and taken down in about 30-60 minutes. Some of our equipment is more compact than what you may find in a traditional club, which gives us flexibility for where we can run our programs. Our list includes various air track mats, 8' long balance beams, parallel/single/uneven bars, folding mats, rolling and incline mats, rollout floor (cheerleading) mats, foam vault, spring board, donut mat, mini foam pit, blocks, and lots of other fun items to enrich learning.

Where do you offer classes?

We have developed partnerships with different schools, halls, churches, districts and private spaces across the lower coast. Some of our locations will be relatively consistent (such as those used in weekly programs), while other locations will vary depending on availability and our needs. The best way to keep updated about where we'll be is to join our mailing list and check in with our calendar.

How can we register for classes?

You can sign up by emailing us to register. Your child's spot will not be secure until payment is sent. Some of our classes will be run through a third party and you may be directed to their sign-up site. For example, to sign up for our classes run through the SCRD you would need to use their site. For any of these cases we would provide those links and information in class descriptions.

What is your refund policy?

Coastal Stars Gymnastics does not offer refunds once payment has been made. In the case of long-term injuries/illnesses that are verified by a doctor, please contact us at hello@coastalstars.ca. Be advised that any potential exception in the case of injury or illness may be subject to processing fees.

For camps, pop-up events or date nights, we may be able to refund if given at least 48 hrs notice and we are able to fill the spot with someone on the waitlist.

Our insurance, rentals, number of coaches, and certain supplies (e.g. crafts) are based on number of students enrolled, so we appreciate your understanding of our refund policy.

What should gymnasts wear and bring to class?

A leotard allows for the best instruction possible, but is not required. If your child opts not to wear a leotard, a shirt that is long enough to be tucked in or tight enough not to go over their head when upside down is recommended. Elastic waistband bottoms are recommended. Jackets, zippers, buttons, hoods, jeans, baggy clothing, and socks should not be worn. No jewelry should be worn in the gym (stud earrings are permitted). Hair should be tied back in a secure ponytail.

Most of our locations do not have a water fountain directly in the gym area. It is recommended that each child brings their own water bottle to avoid having to leave the class area for a drink. No food permitted except in the entrance area.
